The following is a short narrative on the process USWebCentral.com employs to build your website.

Step 1: Web Questionnaire
The development process begins when you fill out a questionnaire. The answers on the questionnaire will help us identify what your needs are and how we can create a site that will effectively communicate with the audiences you would like to reach.

Step 2: Site Navigation
From the information collected in step one, we will draft a sitemap and set a meeting with you to discuss our recommendations. In the meeting, we will explain the strategy we applied in organizing the site and listen to your feedback for changes and modifications.

Step 3: Content Gathering
Once the basic structure and scope for the website has been finalized, we will outline the development phases and articulate the services we will be able to assist you with. We also will create a content checklist to assist you as you gather information for your website. It’s important to review the content section in the minimum materials and requirements handout for more information about preparing your content.

Step 4: Content Editing
After you’ve assembled all the content for your site and sent it to us, we will write transitions and introductions for your website and make suggested edits for web copy. With your final approval on the content, we will proofread the information and assemble a production binder.

Step 5: Production and Design
The production and design team will build the website to mirror your sitemap and include any special features and/or designs that were discussed. After the first draft of the development site is ready for review, we will conduct an internal review and set a time to meet with you to present the site. The development site will not impact your current site while we are in production. The development site will be built in a separate directory and moved over to replace your current site completely when you are ready to go live with your new site.

Step 6: Review and Quality Assurance

After the presentation of your development site, we will send you a link so you can review it on your own and submit changes. We will then implement your changes and conduct a final quality assurance review.

Step 7: Delivery of Finished Product
With your approval of the development site, we will begin the process of replacing your old site with your new site (also known as “going live”). This process takes a couple of days behind the scenes; however, to you and your users the switch of the site will be instant.

Step 8: Maintenance

The maintenance of your site is just as important, or perhaps even more important, than the building of it. Your beautiful new site will only be good if the information is current. For this reason, we will address your maintenance plans and options at the beginning of the project.
Depending on the scope and the size of the site, our office might be able to offer maintenance services to you. If we are unable to offer maintenance assistance, we will discuss other options with you.

The only overnight success available to ranking your site is pay-per-click. However, for the most part, it is only successful until your budget is reached. Long term search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) requires a commitment to continuous update as the field changes. US Web Central has proprietary methods that help speed up this process.

US Web Central offers SEO visibility for their customers that improves business being driven to your site. There are two ways in which this can be done. First, you can choose to have US Web Central optimize your site for SEO and SEM and write or modify content. The second more economical method is you may choose is to have US Web Central provide your company ongoing training in SEO and SEM. Do you have to be an expert in HTML or other coding systems to be effective… absolutely not. We have taught individuals how to do this with nothing more than a basic knowledge of computers.

Please feel free to contact US Web Central today and discuss your SEO and SEM programs today.

obama2 t120 Denver Video Company Welcomes Barack ObamaWhen we restructured our Denver Web Development Company back in 2005, we never planned for what was to come. We were basically just a .net web development shop that provided denver web design and hosting services for our clients in the Denver, Colorado Metro area.

Video was not in our business plan in 2005, maybe a thought. but the video spokesperson has really proven to be a hit with our clients. When Barack Obama was in Denver, we were completly booked shooting video the whole week he was here. Shooting video is one thing, then creating multiple custom flash media players with interactive functionality was another. We have become very good at what we do because of the talent we employ. With our patent pending applications scheduled to launch in February, USWebCentral has never been more busy.

Denver has had great weather lately but many places across the country have been plagued by frigid temperatures which has forced many people to be stuck inside.  The NFL playoffs and the NBA have been generating a lot of viewers which translates into a lot of visitors to sports related web sites.  ESPN recently underwent a web site design change which seems pretty cluttered unpopular.  Normally when a large, frequently surfed website changes it’s website design people complain because sometimes there are bugs, but it really comes down to people not doing well with change.

Dealing with website design in Denver we have seen more of the smaller business changing their website design to a more streamlined and easily navigable format. People prefer to be able to find what they need with ease and I think that ESPN should take a note from Sports Illustrated and keep things looking a bit cleaner and still have a lot of accessable information from the homepage.

The following is a suggested list of twenty items that can help you up better plan and achieve a successful website launch. We have launched hundreds of websites to date and these tips are devised from years of experience. Learn from our mistakes and research, follow each step and your web development will be on your way to becoming part of the world wide web.

  1. Find a reputable web design firm
Do your homework here and you will save yourself a lot of time down the road. Make the effort to do some background checking and call some of their references.
  2. Find an available domain name
we like to use godaddy.com or networksolutions to do this. They have a nice online tool to let you brainstorm and see what possible name combination’s are out there and available. They are too expensive to use for registering though. Go to the next step when you find the name you like that is available.
  3. Register the domain name
Do not let anyone register your domain name for you. It is vital that you register this in your name only! For registering domain names, you can’t beat GoDaddy.com for this. Register here
  4. Setup webhosting account
We offer webhosting in-house. We will take care of setting up your email accounts, setting up the domain name so your site will come up when it is entered into a browser. In general taking care of one of the most confusing parts of the web development process. Contact us about our hosting plans. Setup your account here
  5. Modify name server information for the domain name to point to webhost
Your web designer should do this for you. If you have to do it yourself, log into domain name account and modify the nameservers for the domain name. If you are using our servers, they are:
NSx.USWebCentral.com – Check with us first as we have many servers to host on in our facility. Each of our accounts comes with web based management tools to allow you to add emails, domains and much more. Contact us for details.
  6. Setup email accounts
Again, your web designer should do this for you. Send them a list of email accounts you need and they will do the rest.
  7. Setup temporary homepage
Use your logo, or just use text to put a “coming soon” page up with your email address so people can still contact you while your site is being worked on.
  8. Design logo
Work with your denver web design firm for this. We have helped many companies with creating their brand and identity. Do not ignore the importance of a good logo.
  9. Design homepage layout
Work with the web design firm to get the look and feel you want for your business
  10. Design inner page layout
Will be based on the homepage colors and layout
  11. Develop photo shop layouts into html and web-optimized images
  12. Develop any backed database and programming
  13. Identify keyword phrases for the website
There are several tools out there to identify keyword phrases that are relevant to your business AND are bringing in the number of searches per month that makes sense.
  14. Write text using keyword phrases and gather images for inner pages
This is about half the work of a website: getting the content together. Copywriters can dramatically reduce the amount of work that you will have to do. Your web designer can also pull together some stock photography that is available for purchase.
  15. Combine content with programming and templates
  16. Test test test
we can’t stress this one enough. You think you found all the errors, but look again. You will be happy you did.
  17. Soft launch for friends and family to test
Get your friends, family and colleagues to start working for you!
  18. Hard launch to general public
This is where all the hard work pays off
  19. Continue to add more content to website
After you launch, it never ends. Websites are living breathing things and you have to feed it at least monthly. We suggest having us add a blog and/or forum to your website.
  20. Search engine submission and reciprocal link exchanges
Your web designer can help you in deciphering this part of the play.

By following these 20 steps exactly, we can assure you that your website project will go off without any problems. Give us a call if you have any questions and would like us to help you.

Streaming Video of course.
Try to find a website nowadays without streaming video somewhere on their website. Don’t be left behind – streaming video is the most dynamic way to communicate your sales pitch, marketing message, or corporate image in a way that can be seen 24/7 by visitors literally all over the world. How could you not have a streaming video on your website?

PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION AND LAUNCH
Some products really do need to be seen in order to generate true understanding and excitement. There is no more effective way to demonstrate your product, or introduce a new product to market, than by using the sight, sound and motion of video. Remember the Slinky? Can you imagine if someone tried to describe it?

No, you had to see it walking down the stairs to understand the magic!

CORPORATE HISTORY VIDEOS

Great for a “click and watch” streaming video on your company’s website, as an introduction to a marketing or training video, tradeshow loops, or to mark a corporate anniversary. There are countless uses for a Corporate History Video. Whether your company started 75 years ago when Grandpa Carvin started selling sandwiches off of a cart on 4th street or it is a two-year old software company, a Corporate History Video tells the story of your company. This can be a powerful tool for franchising, media kits, advertising or just displaying a corporate “personality” you can show to your customers and/or new or current employees.

MORE WEB VISABILITY
Utilize Google Video, YouTube and other video hosting services and post your video for free. 24/7 Sales Person – Stream you video sales presentation from your website and have a virtual sales person available 24/7. Talking to a potential lead that is just in tire-kicking mode? Don’t lose that precious lead. Send them to your website or send them an email with a video link and let the video do the talking for you.
